Terms of Use
These cover using this website and working with me. The short version: I do the work I quoted, you pay for it, and either of us can walk away from a monthly service with a month's notice.

Using this website
You are welcome to read anything here and use the advice in it. You may not copy the written content wholesale, scrape the site at volume, or attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it.
The content is general guidance, not advice specific to your business. SEO outcomes depend on your market, your competitors and decisions made by search engines that are outside anyone's control. Acting on something you read here is your decision.
Quotes and prices
Prices shown on this site are genuine starting points for the scope described, not teaser rates that climb once you get in touch. The price for your project is the one in your written quote, and that quote holds for 30 days.
Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it starts. I do not add extras to an invoice that you have not seen first.
Payment
- Fixed-price projects: 50 percent before work starts, the balance on completion.
- Monthly services: billed at the start of each month.
- Invoices are due within 14 days.
- Work may pause on invoices more than 14 days overdue, after I have told you.
No contracts
Every recurring service is cancel any time. Give one month's notice by email and the service ends at the close of that period. No exit fee, no minimum term, no convincing you to stay.
I can end a monthly service on the same terms. If I do, I will tell you why and help you hand over to whoever comes next.
What I need from you
Most delays are access delays. To do the work I need timely access to your site, hosting, analytics and Google Business Profile where relevant, plus answers to questions within a reasonable time. If a project stalls on your side for more than 30 days, I may invoice for the work completed and close it.
Ownership
Once the final invoice is paid, the work I produce for you is yours: the site, the copy, the content. Third party licences such as themes, plugins and stock images stay under their own terms. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio unless you ask me not to, in writing, at any point.
What I do not promise
I do not guarantee rankings, traffic volumes or revenue. Anyone who does is guessing. What I commit to is the work described in your quote, done properly, with the reasoning explained so you can judge it for yourself.
The free audit
The free SEO audit is limited to a small number each week and is offered at my discretion. It is a genuine piece of work with no obligation attached. Requesting one does not sign you up to anything, and I will not chase you afterwards.
Liability
Where things go wrong, my liability is limited to the fees you paid me for the work in question. I am not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost business, or for ranking changes caused by search engine algorithm updates.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law.
Your cancellation rights
If you are a consumer rather than a business, you have 14 days to cancel a service agreement. If you asked me to start inside that window, you pay for the work already done up to the point you cancel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes
Updated terms apply from the date at the top of this page. Existing agreements run on the terms in place when they started.
